The Alaska Series is an ongoing effort of Jon and Jeff as they continue their collaboration of creating “Double Vision Alaska” artwork whereby Jon paints on top of one of Jeff’s photos creating a unique piece of art. The Alaska Series is the semi-regular release of very limited edition Giclee prints of various Alaska themes. Check back to this page for more releases as time goes on.

In order to create the artwork in the Alaska Series, Jon and Jeff discuss of their life experiences of living in the Last Frontier. Once they both feel a theme is right, they review some of Jeff’s best landscape photos which relate to the genre & season. With Jon in the lead, they continue to discuss as Jon does some preliminary sketches of what he might add to a particular photo. That’s when they choose which of Jeff’s photos they’ll work on next. A large print is made of Jeff’s image, delivered to Jon, and Jon does his magic with brush and paint on top of the print just like he’s done on his best artwork for over fifty years. Oftentimes Jon’s creativity takes a turn from the original plan as he puts his brush to the photo canvas and a new theme is created.

In celebration of the State of Alaska being the 49th State of the Union, each of the releases in The Alaska Series will be limited in edition to only 49 prints.
